Welcome to Purple Coquí Tours, Puerto Rico’s first and only company that specializes in experiential travel. Puerto Rico is known for its many white sandy beaches, El Morro, El Yunque, Viejo San Juan, the Bacardi factory tour, the bioluminescent bay and a few other well known attractions, but did you know the overwhelming majority of things to do and restaurants to eat at don’t have an Internet presence? It’s true! In fact, even Puerto Ricans rely on word of mouth to find unique things to do on the island.
Puerto Rico offers big experiences—and so much beyond the beachfront all-inclusive resorts. Maybe you want to do a walking or bicycle tour of the island, hit up all the microbreweries, find those “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants where locals gather, learn about the history as only an “insider” can share it, experience ecotourism, concentrate on a specific region, or try a little of everything. No matter which experiential travel Puerto Rico package you choose or what you want to focus on, your travel experience is tailored to your individual interests, preferences, fitness and comfort level.
For those new to experiential travel, Puerto Rico offers an unlimited number of things to experience that will capture all of your senses and allow you to live as locals do. To learn more about experiential travel Puerto Rico style, click here.

When we visited the island, we had the privilege of using the services of the owner of Purple Coquí. It has been said that if you can see where you live through the eyes of a tourist you can really appreciate where you live. Well we had the opposite experience, seeing Puerto Rico through the eyes of a local, and were truly blessed by the experience. Mixing with the residents allowed us to feel like we got to know the portion of the island that we visited. Yes, we still did touristy things, but with a different and more meaningful experience. We didn’t avoid the damage from the hurricane, primarily because I didn’t want to. Purple Coquí Tours tailored our experience to what we wanted to experience. If you want the real deal, contact them.
